Alright, the second attempt is up. Almost forgot this one but had it pasted in my email using beersmith. this was the batch that made me wanna make the switch to all grain. why? one word- twang! i didnt notice it too much in the first brew, but this was so twangy at first. after reading the forums i realized it was from using extract. it seemed to mellow as time went by and was actually a pretty decent brew down the line. i also attempted a late extract addition that seemed to keep the color in check. im also a retard and didnt calculate my ibu's right with beersmith. attempting 75, i got around 60 because i didnt mark the volume of boil i was using (3gallons). still, it had a nice flavor and aroma, just not as bitter as i was hoping for. i was content with this, but i didnt want to settle with minimal beers using extract. also, did i mention bottling sucks? well, this was also the last bottle batch (for now) i was going to do. after this batch if i looked into a crystal ball i'd see all grain and kegging in my near future.
