Alright, this was my first attempt at making some liquid glory. I was actually shootin to brew a pale ale, but used a bit too much Crystal 40 + the color was dark from using extract and not doing a late extract addition. I was starting a journal, but i got lazy like we all do as beer drinkers and only made the one post in it about this beer. since i dont remember exactly what was going on with it, im going to just copy my notes from there. i didnt use any program or software to compute this recipe, just took a stab at it from reading recipes on my friendly homebrew forum. here are the notes-
6.6 Muntons LME
1 lb Crystal 40l
2oz amarillo 60min
1oz cascade 15min
1oz hallertau 5min
us-05 yeast
IBU- about 50
OG-1.048
FG-1.010
ABV- about 5%
brewed on 10/09
Final result was a great brew with rich carmel flavor, amber color, and somewhat of a citrus/spicy hop flavor and aroma. On a side note, Brewmaster Brian Ford from Auburn Ale House hooked me up with 3oz of amarillo during my boil.
